Spreed releases app for Android smartphones and tablets

By releasing the new Webinar web conferencing app for Android smartphones and tablets, Spreed meets not only the demand for an open platform but also sets high new standards in terms of usability, comfort, and security.

Similar to Spreed Desktop the 'Webinar' app enables participants to chat with each other, watch/create presentations and whiteboard drawings, as well as take part in polls. Audio is transmitted either by phone or VoIP.

"With the new 'Webinar' app, we are supporting the current mobile revolution", says CEO Niels Mache at the launch party in the australian office of struktur AG. By using Spreed's mobile video conferencing, employees are more flexible and effective than ever and are reducing travel expenses at the same time. According to a recent study by YouGov, almost one in five (18 %) small businesses in the U.S., Canada, and Australia are achieving productivity gains of more than 30 % by adopting a mobile working style, enabling people to work whenever, wherever, and however they choose. The drive for working style changes comes from employees, outweighing any external pressures including budget, productivity or competitive advantages. Already 52 % of small business globally are using video conferencing tools at work - there is a high demand for mobile usage.

The 'Webinar' app of Spreed is available free of charge. Online meetings can be joined by up to 3000 participants. "As a host, you can use Spreed permanently free with 3 people. For larger events”, recommends Director of Sales Patrick Walther, “book a Spreed Online Meeting flat rate in our online shop, by calling, or by writing us".
